MALDITA CASTILLA EX PS4 PS4
This Cursed Castilla review is based on a PS4 copy provided by Abylight Studios.Technical and necessary cookies are absolutely essential for our website to be operational with all its active functionalities. If you’re looking for a hardcore action platformer on PS4, you should definitely check out Cursed Castilla! Its mix of mythology from several cultures with a noted main influence from Spain’s own mythology gives this a very interesting twist. It does good by the games that had an influence over it, such as Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Black Tiger, and Shinobi, to name a few, while still being very much a different game altogether.
MALDITA CASTILLA EX PS4 FULL
There are other trophies, but I didn’t mention them above because I don’t want to spoil the full list.Ĭursed Castilla is a very fun homage to old-school action platformers of ages past. You can select some with a filter that makes the game look as if played on an old CRT TV, some with crisper visuals, one that greatly stretches the screen to 16:9, and some with a mix of those and a border.Ĭursed Castilla features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy, and it’s going to be a hard one for trophy hunters to collect! There are only 14 trophies and the Platinum, but they ask that you complete the game in less than 50 minutes, complete the game without using continues, or that you find the five Moura tears that have been hidden in the game’s levels. The game is 4:3 by default to stay true to the old-school releases from back in the day. The game includes several video options so that you can find the one that feels right for you. On top of dealing with enemies, you’ll also need to avoid hazards such as spears, rotating windmill or bottomless pits.

All hit you hard and take one of your hit points away, so yes every single enemy is just as much of a hazard during this quest. Considering the game is certainly not a walk in the park, an extra life or two can go a long way in helping you complete it.Įnemies include everything flow crawly and walking zombies with swords to chubby hooded executioners, to deadly birds and worms.

Examples of those in the last category include an item that heals some of your health as well as one that grants you an extra life. You’ll find treasure chests along the way that will either contain coins to boost your score, weapons to attack enemies, or valuable items to help you in your quest. So if you were carrying a powerful weapon but screw up, you’ll have to make the most of the regular weapon you’ll restart with while you find something more useful. When you die, you lose any weapon and the special item you had on you at the time. But this is not a problem since all you have to worry about is moving left and right, jumping and shooting at anything that moves. The game does not include a tutorial or anything like that, but its first stage does allow you to get used to its controls and gameplay mechanics.
